For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them
Matthew 18:20
The word ‘church’ comes from a Greek word meaning ‘gathering’ and at Union Road we are a gathering of ordinary people who come together to praise an extraordinary God.
So, when we meet on a Sunday, we are not just going to a building but joining with our family- a family that God has brought together through the saving work of His Son.
Our services usually last for around 60 minutes and they are, what we would call a gospel conversation in which we get a chance to speak to God in prayer and the singing of God’s praise and we hear from Him through the reading of the Bible and the preaching of God’s Word. Our services are led by our minister, Rev Ashley Graham, but they will often involve other people, sharing in different aspects of the worship.
We are pleased to have people who represent every stage of life, from the baby in arms, to our senior members who rely on the kindness of others to bring them to church but we are also aware that life can be hard, work can be tough and people arrive at our services carrying many different burdens or concerns for themselves or others, therefore our prayer is that the preparation that goes into each service would act as a time of spiritual refreshment, where we can be reminded of the greatness of our God, not by leaving our brains or feelings at the door, but engaging head and heart in the service of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
We meet all year round on Sunday at 12 noon and 6:30pm.
Why not come and find your part in this family?
