Encounter is our fellowship group for young people of secondary school age.

We meet each week during school term time for worship, games, movies, missionary stories, youth-focused Bible studies and supper.

What do we do?

We mix our nights up quite a bit to keep things fresh. So on some nights we will explore a Bible passage or topic. On other nights we will kick back and relax; we might watch a movie, eat pizza or have a games night or table quiz.

When and where do we meet?

We meet in the Junior Suite in the main church complex each Sunday night after the evening service during school term time. We start around 8pm and finish at 9.30pm. Our term schedule is posted on the notice board in our room at the beginning of each term.

Who can go?

Anyone who is between 11 and 18 years old (inclusive). You don’t need to go to our church to come to Encounter.

Why do we meet?

1. To have fun. Whether it’s studying the Bible, playing games, competing in our annual table quiz or watching a movie with your mates, we hope you’ll have a great time doing it.
2. To make friends. Encounter aims to create an environment where you can make strong friendships with other people your age. So, when you encounter difficult times, you’ll have a group of friends you can depend on for help.
3. To encounter God. Our main aim is to explain Christianity to you to help you either start your walk with God or to develop your faith. So, whilst you don’t have to be a Christian to come along, you should be open to learning what Christianity is all about.
